On Friday 12 November 2021, Greg Hands submitted a petition to the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham calling on the council to reinstate the Bishop’s Park Farmers Market.
The Bishop’s Park Farmers Market was a popular facility within the community, which used to see around 25 traders set up every Sunday.
In early 2021, the market was closed due to the council’s interpretation of the coronavirus regulations and was expected to re-open once the restrictions allowed.
However, the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham took the decision to permanently close the market.
After submitting his petition of 502 signatures, alongside Councillor Amanda Lloyd-Harris, Greg commented:
“Bishop’s Park Farmers Market was a popular local market, which supported small local businesses and was used regularly by local residents.
I have handed in this petition calling on the council to reinstate Bishop’s Park Farmers Market so local businesses and customers can use and enjoy it again once more.”
