Dear Resident,
I hope you have had a good week!
Earlier this week, we celebrated 75 years of the NHS. In Chelsea and Fulham, residents have access to fantastic NHS services, including our hospitals and excellent staff at Charing Cross, Chelsea & Westminster, The Royal Marsden and the Royal Brompton.
As part of the NHS celebration, it was an honour to attend a reception at No10 Downing Street, with Lee Watson who is Director of Nursing at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. The hospital is itself celebrating its 30th anniversary in Chelsea. The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Rt Hon Steve Barclay MP gave a great speech, too!
I also appreciated receiving a letter from Her Excellency, Hélène Duchêne, Ambassador of France to the UK, regarding the Fulham Bilingual School, highlighting the strong support I have shown after they were forced to close. The London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham (LBHF) needs to engage with the school and parents at the minimum, to provide reassurance about the September return. I will, of course, continue to follow developments very closely; schooling has been disrupted enough over the last few years and LBHF’s lack of action should not contribute to this!
Best wishes,
Greg Hands
