The Post Office in the Co-op at 254 North End Road is a much-loved and much-used local amenity.
Greg has been made aware that the Post Office has been advised by Co-op, which hosts the Post Office in Fulham, to leave. The notice period expires in September 2023 when Lidl takes over the store.
When the Fulham Crown Post Office closed in 2003, Post Office Ltd assured Greg there would continue to be a major branch on or just off North End Road. Greg is looking for the Post Office and/or the Co-op to keep fulfilling that pledge.
Greg knows that many residents rely on the services that this particular Post Office branch supplies. To show the local demand for the branch on North End Road, Greg has started a petition calling on the Co-op and Post Office to retain a Post Office within the vicinity of North End Road.
Greg has met with Post Office Ltd several times and understands that they are looking for alternative premises nearby. When Greg met Business Minister Kevin Hollinrake, the Minister was keen for the Post Office to remain in the North End Road area, too.
Greg has now also written to Lidl HQ in Germany - in German - about saving the North End Road Post Office. When Lidl take over from the Co-op later this year, the Post Office will close and Greg is asking Lidl to re-consider their views on this.
Residents need this vital Post Office and rely on it daily.
