Dear Resident,
Last Friday, I presented my petition to Save the North End Road Post Office to the Post Office. I would like to thank all those who took the time to add their signature to this important petition. I continue to urge the Post Office to fulfil the pledge they made in 2003 to keep a major branch on or just off the North End Road. It would be devastating for local residents if no alternative location could be found for this Post Office branch. Read more about my ongoing campaign below.
One of my long-standing campaigns is to fight for better transport in our local area, with signalling at Earl's Court being in particular need of modernisation and improvement. Better signalling will allow more trains to be safely pushed through the Earl's Court bottleneck, particularly at peak times. Last week, I was incredibly pleased to hear that thanks to signalling improvements, there will be an increased capacity for the amount of trains operating on the District Line in the near future.
Longer-standing residents will remember my previous successful campaigns to have more trains on the Wimbledon District Line, first by moving capacity from the Olympia Line, and then from 2010, the introduction of the modern-day, walk-through "S" Class train, which allowed a lot more passengers. This represents another great step forward in improving the public transport infrastructure across Chelsea & Fulham.
I hope you have a pleasant weekend.
Best wishes,
Greg Hands
